Our Poetry Page

We have written some acrostic poems about sea creatures and ladybirds.
An acrostic poem is written using the first letter of the object you are writing about.

Lobsters are big crustaceans.
On their back is a shell.
By the night they swim.
Swim in the deep blue sea.
They live in the sea.
Eat, eat, eat
Ready to fight.

Red crabs walk in the sand
Eggs are little as
Dead crabs are big or small
Crabs are red
Red crabs are nice
Are crabs clever?
Breathe under the water

Puffer fish goes out and in
Under the sea
Fast as a jellyfish
Fast and spotty and spiky
Eat little fish
Round and round
Frightened of animals
It is spiky and it has no ears
Spikes come out
Hides in rocks.

Great white  shark
Really   big
Enemies
Ate  an  octopus
They  can   be  found   in   all  the   oceans
Wide  jaws
Hundreds of people are scared of sharks
Its  mother  is   huge
They  are   killed   for   their   fins
Eat  fish
Sharks are predators
Hide  away
A shark must keep swimming or it will sink
Really   great
Kill  people

Little baby ladybirds can’t fly
A yellow egg stays under a leaf
Did you ever see it crack?
You should look on a plant like a swan plant.
But have you seen its pupa?
It’s ready to fly
Right, it landed on my swan plant
Don’t you eat aphids?
