Marvellous Mathemagicians are back!

There are 8 bananas and 7 apples.
How many pieces of fruit are there altogether?

Please post your answer here but you must say how you worked it out!

We think there are 15 pieces of fruit. We worked out the answer by drawing 8 bananas and drawing 7 apples. Then we put them together and counted all of them.

8+8=16 I took away 1 and it =15.

I think it is 15 is the answer of the Marvellous Mathemagicians because 8+8=16-1=15.

8+8=16 but when you minus 1 it makes 15.

Hi A4
Great working out. We like the way you worked it out by drawing and counting. You were the first children to figure it out!

To Angela, Neeshika and Leilani
Fantastic working out. We like the way you used doubles to solve the problem.

I just start at 16 because 8+8=16 then I took 1 away so its 15.
